FAQ
Funeral Caddy
Funeral Van
The Funeral Caddy is the perfect tool to balance a traditional funeral with cremation. It will hold any urn in place and allows for pall bearers. As a hearse dealer, I wanted something that would be user-friendly with ALL new and used hearses and church trucks. Visually it has a casket look so families can picture using it. The Funeral Caddy is the right tool to show your families respect and value.
Yes! The Funeral Caddy addresses the ceremony ie pall bearers, church service, visitation, etc. Customers can see what they are paying for. A built-in holder is like a glorified cup holder. I get that it holds it, but I can hold it. The front seat can hold it. I just don't see why a customer would pay for that.
Also, the holder has been around almost 20 years. When I get hearses with holders in trade, the most popular things I hear are:
"I never used the @#$% thing"
"It broke and I never fixed it" - FYI fixing them can be a nightmare
"Family did not see value, so I gave them the hearse for free" - FYI not the best business plan
The holder is the easiest way for the Funeral Director to feel they are addressing the hearse-cremation issue. Time has shown otherwise and it is not sustainable.
Let's try this.... I asked AI if pallbearers are important for a traditional casket funeral. Answer: Yes, The role is deeply meaningful. If a traditional funeral with a casket procession is planned, pallbearers are crucial. The focus is always on honoring the deceased and supporting the living.
When I ask AI if pallbearers are important for a cremation service, the answer is basically the same: Yes, though their role shifts from carrying the casket to carrying the urn. The Funeral Caddy builds on the importance of the role of pallbearers.
Definitely! The Funeral Caddy is a tool that you can use over and over again. Most of the competition options are built by furniture makers. They look nice but they are not user-friendly. Before we built the Funeral Caddy we owned one. We actually used it on funerals.
Loved the idea (like Raiders of the Lost Ark), but the function was terrible:
- Did not work with the hearse hardware layout. Had to stuff it with towels,
- Not user-friendly with church trucks. Could not line up.
- Urn "fingers" kept coming loose and would not hold the urn in place
We used it to discover what we did not like and build something that we did like:
- We have a garage full of hearses to discover the size that would work with any hearse
- Flush on the bottom plus added weight so it is easy to load on to and keep on a church truck
- With my hearse contacts had custom Urn Bier Pins made to hold any size and shaped urns
Then we started thinking, what else can we have the Funeral Caddy do:
- How about interior storage... Check!
- How about having it flush on top to use as an anywhere table with a church truck... Check!
- How about holders for a picture of the deceased and a folded USA flag... Check!
- How about an option for extra Urn Bier Pins to hold flowers or a 2nd urn... Check!
